Wilson Clash 108 V7 has been the hottest topic among players for quite some time. Its oversize Clash 108 V7 instills excitement among players. As for me playing with an oversized racquet was quite the adventure. It completely changed my perception of oversized racquets.

After experiencing this one, I got over the fear of losing control of the game with a uniquely oversized racquet. It is one hell of an experience to play with Wilson Clash 108 V7. After all, even Federer tested and was amazed by its performance.

What is Wilson Clash Series?

Wilson Clash Series is one of the few racquet series that gained popularity and became #1 best-selling racquets within days. It happened back in 2019 when Wilson Launched the Clash series. The reason for its popularity was that many professional adult players were eager to use it.

Ever wonder what was unique and so promising about the Wilson Clash series? The Wilson Clash series gave the players what they needed most. They provided them with flexibility while maintaining control and stability while adding power

It was a feat not many had achieved back then. Wilson made the Clash series a little different by twisting the racquet frame. They made it bend both ways, vertically and horizontally. It means that it can do both traditional and modern swings without compromising comfort, control, and power.

Wilson kept these basics in its entire Clash racquets. Among them, Wilson Clash 108 V7 gained extra attention. Since I will do an in-depth review of Wilson Clash 108 V7, let’s start with its specifications.

Ground strokes:

Because of the FreeFlex and StableSmart technology implemented in Wilson Clash Series, Wilson Clash 108 gave the most generous sweet spot ever. After trying it, I noticed that it provides a clean and clear strike on the ball even if I miss my timing. Wilson Clash 108 gives you a larger sweet spot area because of its slightly larger head Size.

This racquet is seriously impressive as it even allows you to throw the ball with small targeted force and still get accurate shots. In short, it reduces your workload.

Volleys:

This racquet was as easy to maneuver on volleys as one can imagine. I never felt that I had to give an extra stretch or effort to hit volleys. Clash 108 was highly maneuverable and stable while being quick on volleys. For an intermediate tennis player like me, I find this rare among the racquets I have used till now.

Serves:

Serving with Clash 108 is something different. It is easy and comfortable. Clash 108 gives extra spacing to the service box. You will notice more than a few angles from which you can serve comfortably. It consistently produces a forgiving feel while on the serve.

What does Wilson Clash 108 offer?

Starting from size, Wilson Clash 108 offers flexibility, comfortability, and stability, along with power.

Size:

With a head size of 108 sq. in and a slightly longer length of 27.25 in, Clash 108 appears as the game-changer. This head size is one of the main reasons you will find Clash 108 plenty forgiving with a comfortable swing. It offers you a wide sweet spot with ease of moving. Hence many have approved of Clash 108 to be arm friendly.

Comfortability:

This racquet comes as the most comfortable for players with slightly bigger body sizes. Clash 108 is constructed with a carbon structure and high-performance carbon fiber. It gives the frame a very light feel; hence very comfortable.

It allows them to improve their game while trying different things. It is only possible because of its comfortable and forgiving structure.

Flexibility:

Flexibility is one of the main reasons you will find the Clash series popular. Because of the FreeFlex technology embedded in every single piece of the Clash series, Clash 108 also offers extreme flexibility. As I said earlier, they can bend both ways because of their frame. It increases flexibility to a certain degree.

Players feel comfortable while swinging the ball and trying different spins every time. At least this was the case with me. Because of its flexibility, all players equally opt for this racquet, be they beginners, intermediate, or experts

Stability:

The main focus of the Clash series was flexibility and stability while maintaining control and added power. The StableSmart technology embedded in the racquet gives it stability and balance overall.

Being stable and balanced while serving and returning hits is one of the key points any player covers. Clash 108 helps them retain their spot while playing freely. I didn’t have to worry about losing balance and stability, primarily when serving and returning hits

What’s more, you have noticed a slight increase in its length. With a length of 27.25 Clash, 108 is perfectly balanced with its slightly larger head size. You will feel that you don’t need too much energy when swinging different styles.

Also, it is very meticulous that this length and head size is balanced so that whenever you hit, it automatically channels your energy towards the sweet spot. It is one brilliant factor you will hardly see in any other racquet.

Topspin Potential and Control:

Because of its slightly longer length and enhanced head size, Clash 108 has a great potential of proving great topspin and enhanced power. For this one reason, baseliners and aggressive players get precise control.

Overall positives and negatives

Positives:

  • Clash 108 is extremely arm friendly
  • Exceptionally comfortable for intermediate and professional players
  • It gives a wide area of learning to beginners
  • Extreme comfortability
  • Highly stable and balanced
  • Enhanced Control with added power
  • Lightweight and efficient

Negatives:

  • Relatively expensive
  • The slightly bigger head size is a little uncomfortable for beginners

Overall opinion:

Starting from professional tennis players, Wilson Clash 108 is a complete package. The way Wilson Clash 108 provides comfort and balance while swinging freely is something to vouch for. Because of its flexibility, you don’t feel the strain on your backhand. It makes you exert less power while hitting.

Due to the larger head size, it offers you a wide sweet spot area. It is something everyone wants. It is perfect for anyone with normal or a little higher height or body size. But at the same time, I have witnessed players struggling with Wilson Clash’s bigger head size because of their smaller body size.

It provides extreme forgiveness range and highly accurate shots for intermediate players like me. Players don’t have to worry about balancing themselves to return a hit. Baseliners get to experience angles that are foreign to them; the same goes for intermediate tennis players. It is because of its unique build and balanced structure.

From a beginner’s point of view, I think it will be a little challenging for them to adjust to this head size. Although if they opt for Clash 108, they will have a wide area of learning, exploring, and improvement at the same time. It all depends on how they take this highly balanced and flexible piece. All in all, it is a masterpiece for all kinds of players. Everything is good about this racquet except for its price. It is not so costly that one can’t afford it, but it isn’t cheap enough that everyone can grab one.

I have tried to include all the factors and features I encountered while playing with Wilson Clash 108. Then again, these are my thoughts and experiences with this piece. With every player, some of the things might be different. As I always say, it all depends on the player and their choices.
